After debuting the massive 115-inch Micro RGB TV this past August (covered here: https://www.theverge.com/news/758063/samsung-micro-rgb-tv), Samsung has now announced that its Micro RGB technology will scale down for smaller sizes. The lineup will range from the colossal 115-inch model down to more practical living-room options in 55, 65, 75, 85, 98, and 100 inches. For most households, a 55-, 65-, or 75-inch screen will be the more realistic fit for a living room setting.

In addition to the 115-inch MR95F, Samsung’s Micro RGB TV family will expand to a broader array of sizes. We expect more specifics on pricing and exact release dates to emerge at CES in January.

Among current options, these Samsung models represent the smallest Micro RGB configurations from any major brand. LG recently announced its own Micro RGB Evo LED TV lineup, with 75, 86, and 100-inch options (news: https://www.theverge.com/news/844885/lg-micro-rgb-evo-led-tv-ces-2026). Hisense’s RGB mini-LED offering is exemplified by the 116UX, while TCL’s Q9M RGB mini-LED’s smallest size in its current China release is 65 inches (details: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1758273196). It remains to be seen which of these models will reach the US market.

There isn’t a universally agreed-upon standard distinguishing “mini” from “micro” in RGB LED technology. Samsung notes that the individual red, green, and blue LEDs in each cluster measure under 100 micrometers (μm) in diameter. That’s tinier than a human hair’s width and much finer than a typical dust particle. Using RGB LEDs for the backlight—paired with a color filter—instead of the conventional white or blue LED backlights used in many other LED TVs, yields improved color purity and brighter, more accurate images.

We’ll have a closer look at Samsung’s new Micro RGB TVs at CES 2026 in January.
